On a remote island, a mad scientist accidentally creates giant shrews while conducting expriments to miniaturize human beings. After the shrews devour everything else on the island, they begin to eat people.
Trivia: James Best is better known for his role as Sheriff Roscoe Coltrane on the TV show The Dukes of Hazzard. Ken Curtis is best known for his playing Festus on Gunsmoke. Baruch Lumet is the father of director Sidney Lumet (Serpico, Dog Day Afternoon). Ingrid Goude (Ann) was Miss Universe 1957. The movie was originally produced to be distributed as a double feature with The Giant Gila Monster, also directed by Ray Kellogg.
